Mitsui Fudosan endeavors to alleviate the impact that our business activities, such as management operations of buildings, may have on the environment by promoting green procurement as well as reducing the use of energy, water, paper and chemical materials, CO2 emissions and waste. In addition, we have been addressing green conservation and other issues.

Mitsui Fudosan Housing Service Co., Ltd. provides management operation, maintenance, security and janitorial services for condominiums and uses Eco Mark-certified products for employee uniforms. In addition, switching to eco-cars as company vehicles are replaced is being promoted. As of the end of fiscal 2007, two out of 66 company vehicles are eco-cars. In fiscal 2008, the number of the eco-cars will be increased to six.

The headquarters, branches and sales offices of Mitsui Fudosan are promoting green procurement for clerical work (stationery, OA paper, etc.) based on the Company's Criteria for Green Office Supplies.
In January 2008, the problem of falsification of the content ratio of used paper by paper manufacturing companies was revealed. However, as it is difficult to confirm the existence of falsification concerning all purchased products made from recycled paper, we will refrain from reporting the green procurement ratio(*1) in fiscal 2007. Further, as for purchased recycled OA paper, we confirmed that the content ratio of used paper was 70% or more even though the content ratio of used paper was falsified. The ratio of recycled paper used for OA paper(*2) in fiscal 2007 was 92%.
(*1) Green procurement ratio: Of office supplies (files, notebooks, paper products, writing materials, erasers, white-out, etc.), the ratio of products that meet Mitsui Fudosan's Criteria for Green Office Supplies (based on purchased amount).
(*2) The ratio of recycled paper used for OA paper: Of OA paper, the ratio of recycled paper (based on weight).
