LaLaport SHIN-MISATO
In LaLaport SHIN-MISATO (Misato City, Saitama Prefecture) to be opened in SHIN-MISATO LaLa City in September 2009, we would like to seek not only sales of goods but also contribution to the creation of cultural value in the local region. To achieve these goals, we are planning to offer our customers a “space where they can see eco technology (environmentally-conscious technology) and environmentally-friendly buildings with their own eyes (sense of vision) and experience them tactually (sense of touch).”
“eco Square” is a place where broad-ranging eco technologies are concentrated. We plan to arrange eco technologies that prevent global warming and curb the heat island phenomenon throughout the Square, install signs explaining the eco technologies, display numerical measures and other information. We would like to offer this place as a venue for environmental education in the local region in the future.
Along with “eco Square”, we also plan to establish five wind power generators on the roof of the north multilevel parking tower, eco-information in the enclosed mall, and an Eco Station (location to be determined).

We plan to provide an Eco Garden next to the Family & Eco Food Court in the open mall as a place where children can learn about food and the environment while freely walking around, touching things and enjoying themselves.
For example, a photovoltaic generator and wind power generator in the shape of a tree (Eco Tree) will be installed to allow children to learn that wind power and sunlight can be used for power generation while enjoying themselves. In addition, a system that generates power through vibrations and sound will also be incorporated.
