The Mitsui Fudosan Group is pursuing designs that consider water saving, efficient use of water and groundwater increment to protect precious water resources and preserve a healthy water environment in urban areas.

Automatic sensory flush valves and automatic water faucets in restrooms are among the water-saving equipment installed at office buildings and retail properties.
At retail properties, such water-saving equipment was installed at MITSUI OUTLET PARK Iruma (Iruma-shi, Saitama Prefecture) and MITSUI OUTLET PARK Sendai Port (Miyagino-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi Prefecture) that were opened in fiscal 2008, as well as LaLaport IWATA, LaLaport SHIN MISATO and LaLagarden NAGAMACHI (Taihaku-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi Prefecture) that were opened in fiscal 2009.

Permeable paving
Use of rainwater and recycled wastewater, such as recycled effluent, is pursued at office buildings, retail properties and for-sale condominiums. Additionally, to facilitate rainwater to seep underground, efforts are made to introduce permeable paving, trenches that infiltrate rainwater, etc. and to secure green spaces.
At Aoyama OM-SQUARE (Minato-ku, Tokyo), an office building that was constructed in July 2008, recycled wastewater made from treated rainwater from the roof, effluent and kitchen wastewater are reused as toilet flushing water, water for sprinklers for green spaces and other general service water. In May 2009, such efforts resulted in rainwater of about 250t/month and effluent and kitchen wastewater of about 420t/month being reused.
