At Mitsui Fudosan's offices, we are working on energy conservation activities in our daily business activities by implementing thorough turning off of lights when away or setting the room temperature at appropriate settings, etc. Furthermore, by June 2010 we introduced task and ambient lighting and motion sensors at Mitsui Bekkan (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) and also switched over from 2-lamp lighting fixtures to 1-lamp lighting fixtures. As a result, electricity consumption from lighting and power outlets between July and September were reduced by approximately 20% compared to the same period last fiscal year.

At Mitsui Fudosan's offices, we are promoting green procurement for clerical work. The green procurement ratio (*1) in fiscal 2009 was 66.1% while the ratio of recycled paper used for OA paper (*2) was 93.0%.
(*1) Green procurement ratio: Of office supplies (files, notebooks, paper products, stationary, white-out, etc.), the ratio of products that meet Mitsui Fudosan's Criteria for Green Office Supplies (based on purchased amount).
(*2) The ratio of recycled paper used for OA paper: Of OA paper, the ratio of recycled paper (based on weight).

At Mitsui Fudosan's offices, multiple waste baskets have been installed for separate collection of waste. By thoroughly ensuring that waste is separated and disposed, and promoting recycling, we are striving to reduce the amount of waste. Furthermore, we are also working to reduce the volume of disposed waste by setting the initial settings of printers at black and white print and at both side printing.
