Preservation of Existing Forests at “Park Homes Okurayama”

“Park Homes Okurayama” has approximately 673m2 of green space (including rooftop and wall greenery). Additionally, in order to pass on the memory of the land to the next generation, among the trees that previously existed at the site, seven Sakuras and one Icho have been preserved right where they originally were.

Integrated Maintenance of Adjacent Green Spaces of “Fine Court Hibarigaoka Glovilla”

“Fine Court Hibarigaoka Glovilla” (Nishitokyo-shi, Tokyo) performed development of town residences combined with re-maintenance of adjacent forest lands possessed by Nishitokyo-shi, and it furthered development with the project's main purpose of contributing not only to the town residences but also to the region. Surveys were diligently accumulated, for example, checking the status of existing trees one by one in the forest land and selecting which trees to preserve, and this is reflected in the forest land re-maintenance plan. In addition, through periodic thinning of trees that cannot be grown, preservation of large trees, and planting of trees centralized around native species, the forest landscape was improved and a new community base of creation, safety improvement, and landscape improvement was realized.
These efforts were evaluated, and the “2011 Good Design Award (civil engineering, environmental maintenance, regional development, and urban design department)” was received.
