Global Logistics Properties Limited (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter “GLP”) and Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) have decided on the name of GLP MFLP Ichikawa Shiohama for the large-scale multi-tenant logistics facility currently under development at Ichikawa City in Chiba Prefecture. The project developer is a special purpose company jointly established by the two companies. Moreover, a ceremony was held today to pray for the safe construction of the facility.

At the ceremony, Kazunori Takeda, Director of Rakuten, Inc., which already has a pre-lease agreement for the facility, Hideyuki Yamada, President and Representative Director of SATO KOGYO Co., Ltd., the company in charge of project design and construction management, and representatives of related businesses, together with Yoshiyuki Chosa, President and Representative Director of GLP, and Hiroyuki Ishigami, Executive Managing Director of Mitsui Fudosan, prayed for the safe construction of the facility.

Rakuten has entered into a lease agreement (approximately 40% of the total area) for 42,000 square meters of GLP MFLP Ichikawa Shiohama.
Rakuten, as reasons for concluding the early lease agreement, cited the project's excellent location for a Rakuten delivery hub for same day orders and dispatches to customers in central Tokyo areas, and the close proximity to its existing facilities.

In recent years, with moves to transform distribution and decentralize logistics bases, there is a growing need for highly functional and versatile large distribution facilities in excellent locations.
GLP and Mitsui Fudosan will continue actively pursuing the development and operation of sustainable high-performance distribution facilities, to meet customers' needs of supply chain efficiency and the optimization of operating costs going forward.
