Work Starts on “(Tentative Name) Mitsui Outlet Park Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) ” and “Taiwan Linkou Outlet
Project(Tentative Name)” ahead of 2015 opening

May 8, 2014
Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.

Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. today announced that it has started construction on both “(Tentative Name) Mitsui Outlet Park Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and “Taiwan Linkou Outlet Project(Tentative Name)” in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Mitsui has been working diligently on both projects since it publicly announced the development plans.

The “(Tentative Name) Mitsui Outlet Park Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)” will be Mitsui Fudosan's first outlet mall business in Southeast Asia. The project's developer is MFMA Development Sendrin Berhad, a joint venture formed together with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (hereinafter referred to as “MAHB”), a joint business partner. This project is ultimately planned to create one of Southeast Asia's largest outlet malls. Construction work for the first stage of the project began on April 1, with completion of construction and opening of business scheduled for early 2015.

“Taiwan Linkou Outlet Project (Tentative Name)” is the Mitsui Fudosan Group's first project in Taiwan. The project developer is Sanxin Outlets Co., Ltd., a joint venture formed by Mitsui Fudosan and Farglory Land Development Co., Ltd, a core enterprise in the Farglory Group. The project will construct one of the largest outlet malls in northern Taiwan. Work began on the project on April 25. It is scheduled for completion and opening for business in the latter half of 2015.

Both projects will draw to the maximum possible extent from the shopping center expertise, including facilities development, tenant leasing and operations, that we have accumulated, starting with the Mitsui Outlet Parks inside Japan and encompassing the Shanjing Outlet Plaza-Ningbo in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, its first overseas shopping center opened in China in 2011, and combine this with local commercial customs to move forward with development.

The Mitsui Fudosan Group has positioned overseas business as one of its growth areas. We are also moving forward on development of “LaLaport Shanghai Jinqiao (Tentative Name)”, where work will begin in December 2014 for a scheduled 2017 opening, following on from the “Shanjing Outlet Plaza-Ningbo”, an outlet mall in China's Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province. We have also developed business by taking part in residential projects in Singapore and China, as well as Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia in recent years. Looking ahead, we have positioned future business development in Southeast Asia as a key pillar of its growth strategy centered on the property sales business, for which demand is growing in tandem with economic expansion and urbanization, and the retail facility business, which will benefit from growing personal consumption. Under its “ Innovation 2017”; its group's long-term business plan for FY2012 to FY2017, announced in 2012, they are planning to execute investments of approx. 500 billion yen in Europe, North America, and Asia, by FY2017.
