Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. announced that the Group’s Nemu no Sato Hotel & Resort will be renamed NEMU HOTEL & RESORT, in conjunction with the grand opening of NEMU GOLF CLUB on the premises on October 1, 2015. The golf course in the resort has been undergoing a major renovation since April 2013. The hotel & resort, located in Shima City, Mie Prefecture, is where the summit meeting of the heads of state of major industrialized nations (the “Summit”) will be held in 2016.

A new AMANEMU Hotel by Aman, a top brand in luxury hotels around the world, is also scheduled to open within the resort in the spring of 2016. With this addition, the Mitsui Fudosan Group will strive to develop the property into a benchmark hotel and resort in Asia, leveraging the Shima area’s local attractions.

The overall concept of NEMU HOTEL & RESORT will be based on the “Rediscovery of Japan’s Unspoiled Scenery.” Situated south of Ise and east of Kumano, the Shima area with its beautiful and ancient scenery was known in Japan long ago as Miketsukuni (the land of sacred feasts) on account of its wholesome crops and fresh produce. The Mitsui Fudosan Group and NEMU HOTEL & RESORT will make the most of this setting to provide soothing accommodations for the body and soul to guests from Japan and all over the world.
