New Retail Facility Named Shinsaibashi MG Building to Open in Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street
MIKIGAKKI Shinsaibashi Store and Gap Shinsaibashi Store Scheduled to Open for Business on November 22, 2018

Tokyo, Japan, October 10, 2018 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced today that it has decided to name the building in the Shinsaibashi-suji 1-Chome district of Chuo-ku, Osaka that it has been jointly constructing with MIKIGAKKI Co., Ltd. under the Shinsaibashi-suji 1-Chome Plan (tentative name) as the Shinsaibashi MG Building. This building is scheduled to be completed on October 31, 2018. The MIKIGAKKI Shinsaibashi store and the Gap Shinsaibashi store will occupy the building. The stores are scheduled to open for business on November 22, 2018.

The Gap Shinsaibashi store belonging to Gap Japan K.K. will open in the building on the basement floor, on part of the first floor, and on the second floor. The inside of the store consists of three floors of sales outlets: the second floor has women’s apparel, the first floor has men’s apparel, and the basement floor has children’s and baby apparel. The first floor also contains a logo shop that makes use of the latest concepts, and many popular logo items are displayed and available for purchase. The store offers an enjoyable shopping experience presented in a casual American style and through a variety of store events.

The MIKIGAKKI Shinsaibashi Store, which has been temporarily closed and relocated since the end of June 2016 as a result of the construction of this facility, will re-open on part of the first floor and on the third through fifth floors in a revamped format as a piano and electronic organ specialty store and music school. The first floor contains a stylish electronic organ showroom designed around the color white, the third to fifth floors contain a Yamaha piano and electronic organ specialty school with a luxurious atmosphere based on the image of a resort hotel. There is also a specialized piano store on the fourth floor, and the store will provide special lessons by prominent pianists who are active worldwide. The MIKIGAKKI Shinsaibashi Store also has an authentic auditorium in which people can listen to professional performances, as well as a corner with sheet music. The new store contains spaces filled with a sense of sophisticated status and proposes a new musical lifestyle.

Mitsui Fudosan will continue to actively expand its business by developing and operating urban-style retail properties in the centers of major cities throughout Japan.
