Akasaka is a famous business area in Tokyo, but it is also replete with history and culture. On March 20, 2008, Akasaka Sacas will hold its Grand Opening in this diverse area. This multi-purpose development brings together work, home, and play, and it includes offices and commercial facilities, cultural facilities like theaters and galleries, rental housing, and event spaces. 100 cherry trees symbolize Akasaka Sacas, and they liven up the area when they bloom between March and May.

This commercial facility opened on March 6, 2008. It comprises 46 shops, some with long histories in the Akasaka area and some new. The refined and sophisticated shopping and dining space can be enjoyed not only by Akasaka Biz Tower workers and local residents, but by anyone who pays a visit. This facility promises to further enliven the surrounding area.

The word “Sacas” comes from the Japanese words “saka,” or hill, and “sakasu” meaning “to make something blossom.” While alluding to the hilliness of its location, “Sacas” also implies that a combination of the historical and the modern is enabling a new culture to “blossom” in Akasaka.
