Twenty-two years have passed since the name "Kashiwanoha" was given to the area surrounding the project site. Since then, this naturally beautiful land has continued to develop as an enclave of nature and education where intellectual culture thrives. Kashiwanoha Park, maintained by the prefecture and the largest park in the city, has become a symbol of the area, which is also home to advanced educational research institutes operated by Tokyo and Chiba University, among others. In addition to these centers, the area is also home to a number of other high-profile and unique public institutions, including "Sawayaka Chiba Kenmin Plaza" and a national hospital. Now that the Tsukuba Express stops at Kashiwanoha Campus Station, expectations are high that the area will continue to evolve into a magnificent "Campus City."
