Luxury Just 5 Minutes from Ginza / Welcome to the WaterfrontWelcome to the Waterfront “Mitsui Shopping Park Urban Dock LaLaport TOYOSU” is located on a waterfront about five minutes from Ginza. With an inviting sense of openness rare in the heart of Tokyo, the facility offers an environment for luxurious communication.

Luxurious Communication Only a Seaside Area in Tokyo Could Offer

A seaside area just five minutes from Ginza. For Mitsui Shopping Park Urban Dock LaLaport TOYOSU, we wanted to make the most of this favorable environment. We took special care to create a space where visitors can enjoy a closeness with the water and experience the full appeal of the sea in comfort.
One of the best reasons to visit the facility is that it offers the kind of luxurious communication that only a seaside area in the heart of Tokyo could provide. Children squeal in delight as they chase each other around the wooden decking, as the adults supervising them look warmly on. A couple hold hands as they disembark from the sea bus. Lie on a bench where the sea spreads out at your feet, and you too, can share wordlessly in this relaxation. In the evening the atmosphere of conversation on the terrace grows to a crescendo.

Preserving memories and history for future generations

Urban Dock LaLaport TOYOSU was developed on the remains of a shipbuilding site formerly owned by IHI Corporation. In a way, by utilizing surviving elements of the shipbuilding dock, including screw propellers, cranes and other objects, we are passing along memories of a place that once launched a host of ships to the next generation.

The facility features a superb line-up of shops to support urban lifestyles, including one of Tokyo's best selections of interior stores at a single site.

In taking advantage of this prime location, the courtyard where people can relax and gather is situated closest to the sea. Surrounding the courtyard are four dynamic buildings, each designed in a ship motif. This design aesthetic preserves the memory of the former shipbuilding site that once stood here, while realizing a space where visitors can enjoy a closeness with the water and experience the full appeal of the sea.
