To the Next Stage of Environmental Initiatives

In order to fulfill its social responsibility as a company to meet the rising demands from society, Mitsui Fudosan Group formulated new policies for environmental initiatives which include a new perspective, such as partnerships with stakeholders, etc.
It clarifies policies for environmental initiatives in four areas (three business areas and one for the area of clerical work). We also formulated a numerical target for the reduction of consumption of energy for the area of clerical work).

Operations Area (Office Building Business, Retail Properties Business, Hotel Business and Tokyo Midtown Development Business (*1))

(*1) The Tokyo Midtown business does not involve the housing-related business

We provide environmentally conscious buildings and we ask for the cooperation of tenants and visitors to our facilities to reduce environmental impact in the administration and operation of properties.

Sustainable Design (Environmentally Friendly Designs for New Properties)

  • Energy conservation/CO2 reduction
    Designs to reduce heat load, introduction of high-efficiency
    facilities, etc.
  • Efficient use of water
    Recycling water and using it/water conservation designs, etc.
  • Saving resources/reducing waste
    Long-life designs, etc.
  • Reduction of impact of chemical materials
    Preliminary survey of soil contamination, measures to prevent sick building syndrome, etc.
  • Development of urban areas that are full of green
    Greening, pursuit of biodiversity, etc.

Eco-action (Activities to Decrease Environmental Impact for Existing Properties)

  • Energy conservation/CO2 reduction
    Construction targeting CO2 reduction, high-efficiency
    operations of facilities, etc.
  • Efficient use of water
    Use of rain water and recycled water, water-conserving activities, etc.
  • Saving resources/reducing waste
    Promoting implementation of the three Rs, etc.
  • Reduction of impact of chemical materials
    Proper management/disposal of CFCs, PCB waste, etc., reduction of the amount of medical agents used, etc.
  • Development of urban areas that are full of green
    Proper management of green space, etc., provision of resting spaces by utilizing green, etc.

    activities of advanced tenants, etc.

 Housing Area (Rental Housing Business, Sales of Housing Business, Made-to-Order Houses Business (*2))

(*2) Mitsui Home Co., Ltd. has established a separate target for the made-to-order houses business pursuant to the initiative policies set forth below.
