Tokyo, Japan, August 30, 2018 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced today that it will hold the Hibiya Cinema Festival in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya from Friday, October 12 to Saturday, November 3 (national holiday), 2018.
Hibiya has historically been one of Tokyo’s main entertainment districts with its many theaters and cinemas. A host of events centered on the theme of movies, one of the most intimate of entertainments, will be held to mark the first fall since the opening of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. In a tie-up with Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the latest in the Spider Man series scheduled to screen in cinemas from Friday, October 12 and nationwide in 2019, the Company will run a special event in which participants appear on a giant outdoor screen as Spider Man in videos produced using 3D Creator, a cutting-edge app pre-installed in Sony’s Xperia smartphones. Special programs will run from Thursday, October 25, such as showing topical movies like The Greatest Showman on the giant outdoor screen, which serves as the Hibiya venue of the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival.
During the Hibiya Cinema Festival period, popular Tokyo Midtown Hibiya restaurants will offer Spider Man-inspired menus and everyone who watches a movie at TOHO Cinemas Hibiya can enter a scratch card draw, turning Hibiya into a world of movies. Be sure to enjoy the new movie experience at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya.

You Can be Spider Man, Too! Star on the giant screen harnessing Sony’s latest technology! Held: Friday, October 12 to Wednesday October 24, 2018
After filming in a studio booth set up in the basement plaza using 3D Creator, an app pre-installed in Xperia smartphones, you can enjoy watching yourself as Spider Man on the giant outdoor screen in a premiere screening! Everyone taking part will receive their own original video after the screening, and restaurants in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya will serve Spider Man-inspired menus for a limited period to generate buzz for the event.
31st Tokyo International Film Festival Hibiya Venue Special Programs Held: Thursday, October 25 to Saturday, November 3, 2018 (national holiday)
A new venue will be added to the 31st Tokyo International Film Festival, one of the largest film festivals in Asia. A high-resolution outdoor cinema with premium sound quality will be set up at Hibiya Step Square, which will be the venue for three special programs - the Hibiya Opening Event A Profusion of Masterpieces screening of topical movies as a collaboration between the Tokyo International Film Festival and November 3 is Video Day, and Godzilla Fest 2018. Admission is free to all special programs, bringing the ultimate movie experience to Hibiya.
