Komatsu Store Co., Ltd. (Takashi Kosaka, President & Director) and Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Hiromichi Iwasa, President & CEO) announce the joint promotion of reconstructing: “Komatsu Bldg*”, “Bekkan Bldg. *”, and “Komatsu Annex Bldg.*”, the three buildings standing opposite one another along Suzuran-dori at Ginza 6-chome.

* Komatsu Store Group possesses full ownership in these buildings.

At remarkably famous high-end district which concentrates many brands’ flagship stores, Komatsu Store and Mitsui Fudosan plan to build two commercial buildings concurrently after demolition of the existing buildings. Detailed planning and obtainment of authority permits are underway.

From generation to generation, Kosaka Family has done various businesses at this project site. The Family established Komatsu Store here in 1946 and contributed largely in the growth of the Ginza District. Komatsu Store Co., Ltd. wishes to re-open at this memorable site a brand new shopping center that will be enjoyed and loved by all customers visiting Ginza. The project will contribute in enhancing the value and the charm of Ginza.

Currently, Mitsui Fudosan operates variety of urban-type shopping centers all around major Japanese cities. Mitsui Fudosan places special emphasis on Ginza District and operates 4 facilities, namely “Ginza Namiki-dori Bldg. (open in August 2002)”, “Kojun Bldg. (open in October 2004)”, “ZOE Ginza (open in March 2005)” and “Ginza Velvia-Kan (open in April 2007)”. Beside this latest project, “Ginza ‘M’ Project (tentative name)” and “Nitta Tokyo Bldg. Project (tentative name)” are also under development phase. Mitsui Fudosan intends to take active participation in redevelopment of even-better Ginza District.
