Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. announced today that the development of a commercial building in Jingumae 1 Chome, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo (provisional name: Jingumae 1 Chome Project) has proceeded, and that the facility name has now been decided upon as "Takeshita-dori Square." The facility will open on March 7 (Sat.)

Located on Takeshita-dori, which is always thronged with people from all over the world, Takeshita-dori Square is designed to serve as a public space for exchanging information and fostering excitement about new youth fashions. On the basement floor through to the third floor, the facility will house one of the ALTA series of stores developed by the Isetan Mitsukoshi Group, which will become HARAJUKU ALTA. Through this development, Mitsui Fudosan aims to create even greater excitement on Harajuku’s Takeshita-dori.

HARAJUKU ALTA will see a total of 19 store openings, including new formats and stores debuting in Harajuku. The tenant lineup will be uniquely suited to Harajuku, including fashion stores, general goods stores items, cafes, Harajuku souvenir stores, traditional Japanese sweet shops, and custom printed sticker stores. Currently the ALTA series has three stores: SHINJUKU ALTA, Sunshine City ALTA (Ikebukuro), and NIIGATA ALTA.
