Main Features of the Renewed NEMU GOLF CLUB

  1. A new seaside course with a resort atmosphere
    1. The Group asked Damian V. Pascuzzo, past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), and Steve Pate, a U.S. PGA tour professional golfer, of the firm Pascuzzo & Pate Golf Design (2P Golf Design) to remodel the course. Furthermore, professional golfer Hiromi Kobayashi was brought in to apply her experience of golf courses around the world as a supervisory advisor to the course.
    2. The golf course was remodeled with a new 300-yard driving range and a bold change of the layout, reversing the front-nine and back-nine holes, to create a polished resort atmosphere (including a 15th hole that tees off into a breathtaking view of Ago Bay and a 16th hole with a scenic yet thrilling approach to the green.)
    3. The number of teeing grounds to the course was increased to five; ranging from red tee markers 4,724 in yardage to black tee markers 6,768 in yardage. Anyone from novice to athletic golfers, families and ladies groups, will now be able to play a round of golf matching their own level.
  2. Two new and extensive practice ranges for enriching the resort-style golf experience
    1. A new and extensive 300-yard driving range will be created on the site of the former 10th hole. This driving range comes with a row of 18 natural-grass teeing grounds, some of them roofed, where guests will be able to practice rain or shine.
    2. A new 7,000 m2 short-game practice area - one of the largest in Japan - will be created on the site of the former driving range. Equipped with two greens the facility is characterized by offering users realistic practice on long approach and bunker shots.

  3. A new playing style unique to the NEMU GOLF CLUB
    1. Two- and five-seater golf carts equipped with a large-monitor navigation system will be introduced for driving within the fairway. The state-of-the-art GPS navigation system in the carts is equipped with a large 10.4-inch color monitor to display the course layout as well as provide guests with the distance to the pin and new functions such as inputting their scores.
    2. Depending on the tee-off time, the carts will enable guests to play 18 straight holes and still have time to enjoy the resort after their game. (Depending on weather conditions, guests may be asked to drive only on the cart path.)

    3. The restaurant also underwent a complete remake from a food buffet to an a la carte menu. Guests can now enjoy the Ise-Shima area’s local cuisine and other dishes prepared by the master chefs of the hotels.

  5. Golf & Stay plans for full enjoyment of the resort and its splendid hotel accommodations
The NEMU HOTEL & RESORT comes with three hotel facilities. One of the hotels, the HOTEL NEMU, was renovated and reopened in April 2013. It has a restaurant serving foods from the Ise-Shima area, as well as a hot-spring spa, KIYORA, with three different types of bathing pools on the premises. Furthermore, it also offers an extensive menu of activities including yoga classes and nature activities such as ocean cruises. Guests could, for example, play a round of late-afternoon golf or practice in the driving range and have a relaxing dinner and hot-spring bath on their first day, and then wake up to play 18 full holes of golf on the second day.
