Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. and NTT WEST ASSET PLANNING CO., LTD. are pleased to announce that construction has begun on the Kyoto Gion Komatsucho Hotel Project (tentative name) located at 572 Komatsucho, Yamato-oji-dori Shijosagaru 4-chome, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto.
This project will involve NTT WEST ASSET PLANNING CO., LTD. building a hotel on a project site owned by NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE WEST CORPORATION. After construction, the Mitsui Fudosan Group will lease and operate the hotel. The opening of the hotel is scheduled for the fall of 2017.
Hotel Features
Location
This project is located in the natural surrounds of Higashiyama and positioned in the highly popular Gion area, a tourist district in the center of Kyoto. The hotel will be nestled in a quiet area facing Yasaka-dori and lined up with Kenninji Temple and traditional Japanese ryotei restaurants. It is within walking distance of Kiyomizudera Temple and Hanamikoji-dori, making it a prime location for leisure and tourism needs.
Responding to Tourism Demand from within Japan and Overseas
The Mitsui Fudosan Group plans to operate an upscale hotel in Kyoto, responding to the dramatic increase in demand from tourists within Japan and abroad who are staying for tourism and leisure.
