Collaboration with Mitsui Fudosan Office Building Tenants
The Setouchi Triennale 2016 Partnership Special Art Festival Viewing Cruise on the Nippon Maru

Tokyo, Japan, May 18 2016, Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. has jointly planned with Mitsui O.S.K. Passenger Line, Ltd. a cruise trip with the main objective of viewing the Setouchi Triennale 2016 on the Nippon Maru, a famous Japanese passenger liner, as a new experiment in collaboration aimed at strengthening relations with Mitsui Fudosan office building tenants and associated companies. Mitsui O.S.K. Passenger Line, Ltd. will start sales from June 3, 2016.

Mitsui Fudosan realized this initiative by organically combining the various strengths of Mitsui Fudosan office building tenants, their group companies, Mitsui Group companies and the Setouchi Triennale 2016(*1) of which Mitsui Fudosan is a supporting partner.

The Setouchi Triennale 2016 Partnership Special Art Festival Viewing Cruise will be operated with cooperation of Kagawa Prefecture, the Setouchi Triennale Executive Committee, the Fukutake Foundation and Benesse Holdings, Inc.(*2) Collaboration with the Setouchi Triennale and with different industries, as well as the use of food from the Setouchi area, has enabled planning of a cruise with high added value.

Highlights of the plan include private viewings of the Chichu Art Museum on Naoshima Island, Teshima Art Museum on Teshima Island, and Inujima Seirensho Art Museum on Inujima Island, as well as a special lecture given onboard by Mr. Fram Kitagawa(*3). Furthermore, collaboration events will also be held with Canon Marketing Japan Inc.,(*2) and JTB Corporate Sales Inc.(*2).

This plan is part of Mitsui Fudosan’s initiatives under the slogan “Beyond the Office,” aiming to provide new added-value that goes beyond conventional concepts for the existing office business,.

(*1) Setouchi Triennale: A modern art festival held once every three years on islands of the beautiful Seto Inland Sea and featuring exhibitions by talented artists. Held under the theme of “Restoration of the Sea,” the festival is an initiative aimed at revitalizing the islands of the Seto Island Sea.
Dates:Spring: 29 days from Sunday, March 20 (spring equinox) to Sunday, April 17, 2016
Summer: 49 days from Sunday, July 18 (Marine Day in Japan) to Sunday, September 4, 2016
Autumn: 30 days from Saturday, October 8 to Sunday, November 6, 2016
Total period: 108 days

(*2) Benesse Holdings, Inc., Canon Marketing Japan Inc. and JTB Corporate Sales Inc. are all tenants, or the group company of a tenant of a Mitsui Fudosan office building.

(*3) Fram Kitagawa: Born in Takada City (today’s Joetsu City) in Niigata Prefecture. Active as an art director. He has been appointed as a director of the Fukutake Foundation and works as the General Director of the Setouchi Triennale. Awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in spring, 2016.
