Maggie’s cancer caring centre (Maggie’s Tokyo) (Joint representatives: Masako Akiyama, Miho Suzuki) opened in the Shin Toyosu district in the Tokyo Bay area as a community space for cancer patients and their families and friends. The centre opened on Monday, October 10, 2016 (a national holiday) and will remain open for a limited period until fall 2020.

Maggie’s Tokyo is the first location in Japan to officially operate under license from the U.K.-based Maggie’s Centre. The centre provides anyone with any type of cancer and their families and friends, and those on whom cancer has an impact when they are lost and alone and need a place to drop by and talk at ease until they feel like they are themselves again. Mitsui Fudosan Residential supports this project and has joined Maggie’s Tokyo as a partner by providing facilities and incorporating it into the WANGAN ACTION Project that aims to energize the Tokyo Bay area. Looking ahead, Mitsui Fudosan Residential and Maggie’s Tokyo aim to realize a rich-minded society of comfort and relaxation.
