Construction Started on the Hakataekimae 2-Chome Hotel Project (Tentative Name)
Fukuoka Prefecture’s First Mitsui Garden Hotel Scheduled to Open in Summer 2019

Tokyo, Japan, May 15, 2017 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, and Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. announced today that construction has begun on the Hakataekimae 2-Chome Hotel Project (tentative name) at 173-1, Hakataekimae 2-chome, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture.
This project will involve Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. building the hotel on a site owned by Mitsui Life Insurance Company Limited. Following completion of construction, Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. will operate it as a Mitsui Garden Hotel. The opening of the hotel is scheduled for the summer of 2019.
The hotel site will be just a seven-minute walk from JR Hakata Station and within walking distance of the Nakasu entertainment area, making it easily accessible and conveniently located for sightseeing and business. In addition, the number of foreign tourists using Fukuoka Airport and the Port of Hakata has hit new records every year for the past five years, garnering expectations for this area to welcome an increasing number of tourists from both within and outside of Japan.
The Mitsui Garden Hotel chain currently operates 20 hotels across Japan with 5,337 rooms. This hotel will be the first Mitsui Garden Hotel in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Going forward, the Mitsui Fudosan Group will actively engage in new developments in the Tokyo metropolitan area and main regional cities throughout Japan.
