Tokyo, Japan, December 8, 2017 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, and, Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. are pleased to announce that construction has begun on the Ginza 5-Chome Hotel Project (tentative name) located at 201-6 and other lots, Ginza 5-chome, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
This project will involve Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. building the hotel on a site it owns and, following completion of construction, Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. operating it as a Mitsui Garden Hotel. The opening of the hotel is scheduled for the fall of 2019.
The location of the project not far from the Kabuki-za and Shinbashi Enbujo theaters offers outstanding access to public transport, being just 1 minutes’ walk from Higashi Ginza on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Toei Asakusa subway lines and 4 minutes’ walk from Ginza on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya and Ginza lines. The site is also within walking distance of the Tsukiji area and areas that attract many tourists from within and outside of Japan.
The Mitsui Garden Hotel chain currently operates 20 hotels across Japan with 5,337 rooms. This hotel will be the tenth Mitsui Garden Hotel in Tokyo, following on from the Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi, Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda and Mitsui Garden Hotel Nihonbashi Premier (tentative name) .
Going forward, Mitsui Fudosan will actively engage in new developments in major and regional cities.
