AEA’s fourth year saw ambitious 30 startup teams which passed their domestic selections from 12 countries and economies across Asia, and they gave impressive presentations to AEA judges at AEA’s main event, AEA Business Pitching Competition. They competed for primacy in the following areas: uniqueness of innovative business model, economic and social impact potential, and feasibility of implementation.

With expanding the program this year, AEA 2015 hosted a number of Asian attendees at Kashiwa-no-ha Open Innovation Lab (KOIL) and the Kashiwa-no-ha Conference Center (KCC); the attendees are ambitious entrepreneurs, seasoned professional mentors, active venture capitalists, researchers of Asian premier academic institutions, business development professionals in private sectors, and students planning to start their own businesses.

The 30 startups accelerated their business ideas through productive discussions with AEA’s seasoned mentors on Day 1. They also expanded their Asian networks to realize their global reach at the reception party held on the same day. On Day 2, they gave their great presentations to AEA’s judges and audiences. After thorough discussion among judges, the 8 companies were selected as the finalists.
