The six organizations of the Tokyo Station City Management Council,* the Daimaru Matsuzakaya Department Stores Co., Ltd., Takashimaya Company, Limited, Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., Isetan Mitsukoshi Ltd., and Yaesu Shopping Mall Co., Ltd. will hold an event entitled “Tokyo Station~Nihonbashi Bridge Showa Retro Tour” over the 25-day period from Saturday, October 10, 2015 to the public holiday of Tuesday, November 3, 2015. Over 30,000 people enjoyed taking part in last year's event - "Let’s walk! Tokyo Station - Nihonbashi 100 years walk" - held from Saturday, October 11, 2014 to Saturday, December 20, 2015.

The area from Tokyo Station to Nihonbashi includes junctions imbued with history. As a starting point for many of Japan’s major railways and highways, this area contains a multitude of attractions, including its rich history as well as many gourmet dining restaurants.

To commemorate this year marking the passage of 90 years from the beginning of the Showa Era, our event will introduce some spots that have historical associations with “Showa.” When you look at the so-called “wrapping” trolley bus that closely resembles the streetcar that freely ran in the Showa Era, or hold the commemorative old-style ticket that is only available during the event, you will feel that you are on a walking-railroad trip. As you walk, you can freely choose whether to immerse yourself in a Showa or modern-day environment. You are about to discover that the Tokyo Station to Nihonbashi area is one that is surprisingly new:
