Chiyoda Ward Deputy Mayor Masaki Yamaguchi, Toho Cinemas, Ltd. President Kazuhiko Seta and Mitsui Fudosan President & CEO Masanobu Komoda ascended onto a platform for an opening ceremony commemorating the commencement of operations. Actress Aoi Miyazaki appeared as a special guest, taking part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that provided a bright opening.

Ms. Miyazaki appears in the television commercial advertising Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. “The three days we spent shooting the commercial were a truly enjoyable shoot. Whether it was in the plaza with its huge stairs or in a delightful bar, I was really excited by the thought of all the wonderful memories that will be evoked by these places at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya,” she said in making a congratulatory speech. When the emcee asked her about what she would like to do in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, an entertainment neighborhood, Ms. Miyazaki replied, “as a person involved in making movies, I’d really love to walk on a red carpet laid down in this neighborhood.” Tokyo Midtown Hibiya opened 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled as many people gathered, forming a line of more than 1,000 people, in front of the entrance before the opening. The complex was soon bustling with people shopping in stores opening in Japan for the first time and enjoying dining.
