Tokyo, Japan, February 22, 2022 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced today that it will carry out the first renovations on Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport EBINA, located in Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture, since its opening. From this renovation, approx. 40 stores will open sequentially from Friday, March 18, 2022.

LaLaport EBINA will respond to customers’ various needs, expand the number of stores for daily use and evolve into a space where customers can spend their time enjoyably and with peace of mind through this renovation.

Key Points of the Renovation

  2. Of 21 stores in the EVVIVA! food court and restaurant zone, 5 will be new openings

  4. Strengthened environment creation to make shopping more enjoyable by replacing plants and furniture
  5. Established environments to make work more comfortable for employees (employee lounges, remodeled bathrooms, etc.)

Full renovation of the EBINA Food Selection food shopping zone

In addition to expanding the food zone, including fruits and vegetables and fresh fish for convenient daily shopping, popular sweets shops from Kanagawa Prefecture and other locales selling souvenirs have been added. Topical stores will also newly set up pop-up stores each season. Furthermore, an eat-in space has been provided to enjoy purchased products from any of the stores on the spot.

Variation has been added to include new business types and stores opening for the first time in Ebina City. In addition to openings by Nihonbashi Tendon Kaneko-Hannosuke, popular in Tokyo, and NEW OLD STYLE Nikusoba Keisuke, restaurants that are easy to use for families such as Pasta no Hi, which offers baby food for infants, will debut.

Including three stores opening for the first time in Kanagawa Prefecture, the lineup will expand to include stores offering tasteful interiors and sundries to enhance time at home and that will inspire visits from within and outside of the prefecture, as well as for daily use as a matter of course.

Strengthened environment creation to make shopping more enjoyable by replacing plants and furniture

A more comfortable and enjoyable shopping environment will be provided by arranging plants and furnishings in various places within the building based on different themes for spaces on each floor. Furthermore, the display of numerous plants at the 2F main entrance with its strong presence will create a fun shopping atmosphere.

Established environments to make work more comfortable for employees (employee lounges, remodeled bathrooms, etc.)

Employee lounges have been upgraded to enable employees to reenergize.

Relaxing rest areas, powder room corners where each person can secure an individual space and meeting spaces have been set up to make even more comfortable spaces. In addition, various functions addressing needs have been established, including power outlets for recharging mobile phones, free Wi-Fi, a washbasin for brushing teeth, smoking rooms and an employee kiosk.

Moving ahead with omni-channel promotion through &mall and &mall DESK

Mitsui Shopping Parks are moving forward with omni-channel promotion to provide new customer experiences centered on brick-and-mortar facilities and Mitsui Shopping Park &mall, the official Mitsui Shopping Park online shopping site.

Customers can pick up products purchased through &mall at an &mall DESK within the facility and try on or return products, giving rise to a new purchasing experience.

Apuri de shiharai (payments by app)

This app enables cashless payments simply by holding a smartphone over a cash register.
This not only facilitates smooth payments, but also makes it possible to accumulate points that can be used for payments at retail facilities managed and operated by the Mitsui Fudosan Group.

Sumaho de chumon (order by smartphone)

Makes it possible to select, order and pay for food court products, and affords customers the convenience of being able to order from their table without standing in line at the restaurant. This also makes it easier for family members or friends to order off the menus of different restaurants, making food court dining much more pleasant.
