Tokyo, Japan, January 10, 2019 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, and Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. announced today that they have decided on an opening date of Thursday, August 29, 2019 for Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station (136 guestrooms; 848 Higashi-Shiokojicho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City). The hotel will start accepting reservations on Thursday, January 10.

The hotel is located with outstanding convenience to public transport, being just three minutes on foot from the central exit of JR Kyoto Station, the terminal station for Kyoto and a Shinkansen stop, and very close to Kyoto Ekimae Bus Stop from where buses depart for sightseeing locations throughout Kyoto City. While it goes without saying that the hotel will naturally be an activity base for guests from within and outside of Japan who visit Kyoto for sightseeing, it will also be convenient for business trips using the Shinkansen and meet the accommodation needs of guests visiting Kyoto.

This hotel will be the fourth Mitsui Garden Hotel in Kyoto, following Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo (169 rooms), Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shijo (278 rooms) and Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei (129 rooms).

Upon the opening of this hotel, Mitsui Fudosan will also launch a baggage service (with charges planned to apply) to utilize Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station’s close proximity to Kyoto Station, a gateway for many guests sightseeing and staying in Kyoto. All four Mitsui Garden Hotels in Kyoto City will collaborate to offer a baggage service that delivers luggage to guests at their respective hotels using the Baggage Service Counter established within Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station.

3. Newly established Baggage Service Counter serves as a base for a collaboration service involving all four hotels in Kyoto City

With the opening of this hotel, Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management will launch a new baggage service taking advantage of Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station’s close proximity to Kyoto Station, which serves as a gateway to sightseeing and staying in Kyoto for many guests. All four Mitsui Garden Hotels in Kyoto City will collaborate to offer a baggage service that delivers luggage to guests using the Baggage Service Counter established within Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station (a planned charge of ¥300 (tax inclusive) per item will apply for each delivery). The baggage service will enable guests to leave their bags at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station immediately after arriving at Kyoto Station and go out sightseeing or strolling through Kyoto, and collect their luggage when they check in at any of the other three hotels for their stay. Similarly, when checking out of their hotel, guests can have their bags delivered to Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Station, enabling them to enjoy their stay in Kyoto with convenience and free of heavy bags.

Moreover, free drinks, a business space and a library will be set up in the basement lounge. Hotel guests or guests using the baggage service can use this space to relax during breaks in their journey without wasting precious time.
