Tokyo, Japan, October 29, 2019 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, and Mitsui Fudosan Hotel Management Co., Ltd. announced today that the Nakasu 5-Chome Hotel Project (Tentative Name) started in November 2018 has been officially named the Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Nakasu (5-1, Nakasu 5-chome, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture) and it will open for business on April 24, 2020.
Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Nakasu will begin accepting reservations from today, October 29, 2019 (Tuesday).
The project site is located in central Fukuoka City, about 2 minutes on foot from Nakasu-Kawabata Station on the Kuko and Hakozaki Lines, providing transfer-free access from Fukuoka Airport and from Hakata Station on the Shinkansen and JR lines.
Nakasu, where food stalls and restaurants are tastefully lined along the riverbanks and visitors create a bustling atmosphere, is located midway between Hakata and Tenjin, Kyushu’s largest commercial area, making it a highly convenient location as a base for both leisure and business activities. Together with the Mitsui Garden Hotel Fukuoka Gion (300 rooms), which opened on Thursday, June 27, 2019, the hotels aim to be facilities offering a variety of guests from within and outside of Japan with a comfortable pace to spend their time.
Image of the completed exterior
Based on a design with the motifs of the accumulation of land and culture and water ripples, which are associated with Nakasu’s history, the refined entrance lobby welcomes guests with a sense of privacy, yet at the same time has an exterior blending in with the surrounding neighborhood.
Guest rooms are decorated with lustrous materials and lighting, creating a comfortable and high-quality space echoing the flamboyance of Nakasu. Rooms can accommodate up to three people, making them ideal for stays by families or groups, as well as en suites with comfortable rooms separated three distinct sections, including a full washroom.
A lounge and powder room with adjoining terrace exclusively for women have been set up for the large public bath on the top (13th) floor, allowing guests to relax after bathing.
The 1st floor restaurant provides a joyous moment to enjoy Japanese cuisine and sake, devising ways to draw out the deliciousness of seasonal fish among other carefully chosen ingredients from Fukuoka, including tasty rice freshly prepared over a hearth.
