About Mitsui Fudosan’s Nihonbashi Revitalization Plan

Mitsui Fudosan is committed to promoting the Nihonbashi Revitalization Plan, which unifies the public and private sectors within the development concept of “creating while retaining and revitalizing.” Mitsui Fudosan has been working to revitalize the livelihood of Nihonbashi through a combination of tangible and intangible urban development based on the four key points of industry creation, neighborhood creation, regional symbiosis, and revitalization of the metropolitan waterfront area.

In 2019, Mitsui Fudosan announced the third stage of the Nihonbashi Revitalization Plan. The three key concepts, with the slogan of “feel, create, and spread together” underlying the vision of the “Nihonbashi, the Origin of the Road to the Future” plan, are “cRegeneration of Waterfront Wealth,” “cCreation of New Industries” and ” Hosting Worldwide-Connecting International Events.” Through these, the objective is to create a community that will lead to the resolution of universal concerns.

Nihonbashi Revitalization Plan Vision

Nihonbashi, the Origin of the Road to the Future

As the Edo Period terminal point of the five main routes (gokaido) that crossed Japan, people, products and ideas gathered in Nihonbashi from all over the country resulting in the creation of new industries and cultures. Mitsui Fudosan aims to recreate such a pivotal city on the modern world stage by gathering and interacting with colleagues from around the globe and to generate fresh ideas of merit for the future.
