Tokyo, Japan, June 2, 2021 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced the full-scale introduction from summer 2021 of the free pad dispenser OiTr, a service providing women’s sanitary pads always and without charge, at retail facilities managed and operated by the Mitsui Fudosan Group, agreeing with the corporate principles of OiTr, Inc. Mitsui Fudosan will start by installing 141 dispensers to cover all women’s toilet cubicles at Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport FUJIMI in Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture, and then install the dispensers in sequence in other facilities.

How to Use OiTr

Sanitary pad dispensers are always available

Display the dedicated app over the dispenser.

Users can then obtain a free sanitary pad.

OiTr is a service that OiTr, Inc. provides to always have free sanitary pads in toilet cubicles in places such as retail facilities, offices, schools and public facilities. Pads are daily sanitary necessities, but unlike toilet paper it is rare for them to be provided free of charge. OiTr came about through the idea to create a world where sanitary pads are always available for free, just like toilet paper.

The Mitsui Fudosan Group agrees with OiTr’s corporate principle to “contribute to correcting the imbalance of economic disparity and gender gap,” and decided on the full-scale implementation of this service after a testing a verification trial in March 2021. We hope that this service will help to alleviate some of the various burdens that accompany periods for customers visiting our retail facilities and that this service will help to make their use of them more enjoyable and give them greater ease of mind. We also hope that this will pave the way toward creating a society where sanitary pads are always available in all sorts of places such as retail facilities.

  • Limits may apply at some facilities in conjunction with operating conditions as a measure against spreading infections.
  • The number and location of dispensers are subject to change without notice.
