Tokyo, Japan, August 23, 2021 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, and the Japanese Para-Sports Association Japanese Paralympic Committee (JPC) announced today that Nihonbashi City Dressing for Team Paralympic Japan, an event to show Nihonbashi’s support for the Tokyo 2020 Japan Paralympic Team, will be held from Tuesday, August 24 to Sunday, September 5 in conjunction with the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The Tokyo 2020 Japan Paralympic Team has a slogan of “Overcome! We are all in this together,” which expresses its passion for overcoming obstacles and limitations as a single, united team that transcends individual event categories. This passion resonated with Mitsui Fudosan, which as a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner in real estate development has supported the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and the athletes participating in the Games with a focus on districts and neighborhoods, and so it has announced it will be holding the Nihonbashi City Dressing for Team Paralympic Japan event to cheer on the Tokyo 2020 Japan Paralympic Team. “City dressing” refers to decorating an entire district using the walls of retail facilities and others. Nihonbashi City Dressing for Team Paralympic Japan will feature appearances by a total of 81 athletes. These individual athletes, each with their own unique personalities, make up a single, united team, the Tokyo 2020 Japan Paralympic Team. So the Nihonbashi district will be adorned with various shades of red, the reds that symbolize the Japan Team. This “hijacking” of Nihonbashi represents the largest show of support in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic history; the entire district in effect will be giving a resounding cheer to Japan’s Paralympians.
