Tokyo, Japan, October 16, 2023 – Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced today that it has begun construction on Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport ANJO (tentative name), a regional shopping center it has been developing in Anjo City, Aichi Prefecture. The opening of this facility is scheduled for spring 2025.

This facility will be the third LaLaport facility in Aichi Prefecture, following on from Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) and Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport AICHI TOGO (Togo Town, Aichi District, Aichi Prefecture). In the Tokai area’s three prefectures, Mitsui Fudosan also actively operates facilities other than LaLaport, such as MITSUI OUTLET PARK JAZZ DREAM NAGASHIMA (Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture) and RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture).

The project site has a location with excellent transportation access. It is within walking distance of Anjo Station on the JR Tokaido Line and Kita Anjo Station on the Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu) Nishio Line, and also offers good access from arterial roads such as National Route 1, 23, and 419.

The facility will contribute to creating a lively neighborhood by offering an alluring retail environment that serves as a community hub where many people gather. Concurrently, efforts will be made to help achieve a sustainable society such as reducing CO2 emissions through efficient energy operation and management and other means.

By offering an extensive selection of much talked about stores in categories such as fashion, general merchandise, restaurants, entertainment, and services, Mitsui Fudosan aims to create a retail facility where customers across a wide range of age groups, including families, may gather and enjoy the facility.

< Local community functions >

Mitsui Fudosan will develop a rooftop plaza with a large roof covering that will have a floor area of approximately 43,000 ft2 (approx. 4,000 m2) and install an abundance of play equipment in the area to create a restful and relaxing space for community residents. In addition, event-hosting spaces will be set up in the building. A variety of events, including collaborative events with communities and sports events, will be planned. Mitsui Fudosan will create spaces that community residents can enjoy regardless of the season or weather conditions.

Mitsui Fudosan will work to solve ESG issues, including reducing CO2 emissions, through measures such as the installation of solar panels, efficient energy operation and management, and the introduction of energy-saving items.

Mitsui Fudosan’s Retail Facilities in the Tokai Area’s Three Prefectures

In the Tokai area’s three prefectures, Mitsui Fudosan first opened MITSUI OUTLET PARK JAZZ DREAM NAGASHIMA in March 2002, followed by Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS in September 2017, RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park in July 2020, and Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport AICHI TOGO in September 2020. In addition, Mitsui Fudosan plans to renew LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS for the first time since its opening in spring 2025, which will coincide with the opening of Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport ANJO (tentative name). Mitsui Fudosan will operate facilities that customers can enjoy even more in the Tokai area. Guided by “Growing Together,” which is a key concept of Mitsui Fudosan’s retail facilities, Mitsui Fudosan will continue to advance various initiatives while pursuing collaboration at each facility, in order to realize a new type of retail facility – one that is developed together with customers.

Furthermore, to commemorate the start of construction of LaLaport ANJO (tentative name), events and campaigns to mark the start of this construction will be conducted at the three facilities LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS, LaLaport AICHI TOGO, and MITSUI OUTLET PARK JAZZ DREAM NAGASHIMA during the period from Saturday, October 28 to Sunday, November 12, 2023.
