Tokyo, Japan, February 19, 2019 - Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., a leading global real estate company headquartered in Tokyo, announced today that it will be renovating Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport KASHIWANOHA, located in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture and operated by Mitsui Fudosan Retail Management Co., Ltd., for the third time since its establishment and will open 29 stores in succession, including 16 new and 13 remodeled, starting from Wednesday, March 20.

The renovation project is based on the concept of a more comfortable, more convenient shopping center indispensable to daily life. It will bolster the daily needs category by creating a new food zone, Kashiwanoha Food Market, and make the complex more enjoyable for families with small children by renovating the food court and plaza areas.

In the Kawshiwanoha Food Market, the Hirasho Group’s Sendai Hokushin from the Kawashiwa Municipal Wholesale Market will create a lively atmosphere as one of the area’s largest fish markets, and the first Hokkaido Kurashi Hyakkaten in the Kanto region will offer a lineup of food products and other local Hokkaido fare to positively transform living in the Kawashiwanoha area.

The complex opened in November 2006 in the Kawashiwanoha Campus Area, which is promoting city development though public-private-academia partnerships, and this year marks its 13th anniversary. As the core commercial complex for Kawashiwa-no-ha Smart City, which is steadily growing and developing toward a “New Vision for the Cities of Tomorrow,” LaLaport KASHIWANOHA creates liveliness for the city and is continuing to evolve into a complex more closely integrated with its customers’ daily lives.
